  • Abstract. The effect of Tween 65 promoter on the kinetics for the hydrate of CO2 to form was being experimentally evaluated . The experiments were conducted using constant cooling method in RAMAN reactor at formation pressure of 4 MPa and 275.15 K. The experiments were performed at 500,1000,1500 and 2000 ppm concentration of Tween 65. The results showed that the induction time for 500 ppm was 3.23 which reduced to 3.18 with increase in concentration of promoter to 1000 ppm. Furthermore the CO2 to hydrate conversion was found to be 58.44 for 2000 ppm and average gas uptake was more for 1500 ppm concentration. The results in this work show that Tween 65 is an effective kinetic promoter.
