Short Biography:

Dr. Ng Cheng Yee is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Programme Manager for MSc in Offshore Engineering and Head of the Smart Infrastructure Modelling and Monitoring Research Centre. With a background in civil engineering and a passion for offshore renewable energy, her research explores marine hydrokinetic turbines, wave-structure interactions, and directional wave modeling. She enjoys working across disciplines to find practical, sustainable solutions for ocean-based energy systems. Beyond research, she is actively involved in teaching, mentoring young engineers, and promoting collaborative innovation between academia and industry.

Throughout her career, she have successfully managed multiple courses and capstone projects, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. She prioritize practical application and critical thinking, empowering students to excel in their chosen careers. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she accomplished researcher with a strong publication record. She have secured and managed research grants worth over $300K as a principal investigator and over $5M as a co-principal investigator. Her research interests encompass various areas, including waterless fracking of shale formations, bio-surfactants for enhanced oil recovery, and modified fracturing fluids for zipper-fracking technology.

She is dedicated to collaborating with like-minded professionals, industry partners, and academic institutions to tackle the complex challenges faced by the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering industry. Through her passion for education, research, and the pursuit of knowledge, she strive to make a positive impact and contribute to the sustainable future of the industry.
