Short Biography:

Dr. Nurul Azhani is a senior lecturer at the Mechanical Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Materials Engineering from IIUM and earned her PhD from Malaysian-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, UTM in 2017, including a research attachment at Yamagata University, Japan. Her expertise focuses on smart and functional materials, especially magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) materials characterization.

Dr. Nurul has secured several research grants, including FRGS, YUTP-FRG, CRF and Murata Science and Education Foundation (MSF), as well as industry-driven grants in collaboration with industrial partners. She has also established MoAs with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and an industrial company in Indonesia. In addition to her research, she actively teaches and supervises in the areas of materials characterization and smart material systems, with ongoing work on biocompatible hybrid materials for wearable sensing technologies.
