Short Biography:

With over 18 years of experience in academia, research, and institutional leadership, Dr. Khairul currently serves as the Director of the Alumni Relations Office, where he focuses on strengthening alumni engagement and fostering lifelong connections between graduates and the university.His prior academic leadership experience includes serving as Chair and Deputy Head of the Department of Geoscience, as well as Teaching & Learning Coordinator at a recognized centre of excellence. These roles have significantly shaped his leadership philosophy and reinforced his commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

While holding key leadership positions, Dr. Khairul also serves as a senior lecturer in the Department of Geoscience, where he is actively involved in teaching, research, and student supervision. He collaborates with academic institutions and industry partners through working groups, research grants, and consultancy projects, translating academic insights into practical, real-world solutions.He is a registered professional geologist (P.Geol.) under the Board of Geologists Malaysia, BOG. Nationally, he is appointed as an assessor for petroleum, geoscience, and geophysics higher education programs under the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, MQA. Internationally, Dr. Khairul is recognized as a Geoscience Ambassador through the UNESCO CMT Geoscience Ambassador Programme, contributing to global geoscience education and outreach.
