Lecturer

Dr. Ahmad Kamal bin Mohd Nor is a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). A former Yayasan UTP scholar, he transitioned into academia following the completion of his PhD at the same institution. His academic background is distinguished by an international education, including a Master of Engineering in Maintenance and System Safety from ESSTIN, an Engineers degree in Manufacturing Engineering from University d'Artois, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from University de Picardie Jules Verne. His research and professional expertise focus on the intersection of engineering and advanced data science. He specialized in Artificial Intelligence during his doctoral studies, producing a thesis on failure prediction for gas turbines using Uncertainty Aware Explainable AI (XAI). In addition to his teaching responsibilities, such as the Computer Aided Engineering course, Dr. Ahmad Kamal is a certified Data Scientist with numerous credentials in Python-based machine learning and data visualization. He is recognized for bringing fresh perspectives and innovation to engineering education and system lifecycle management.
